Stopped painting in 1984 to pursue a career as a musician and restore an Edwardian house. Started painting seriously again in 2003. Lives and works in York, concentrating on the landscape of the East Yorkshire Wolds.

Using a glazing technique derived from fifteenth and sixteenth century Flemish and Venetian painting, David combines an interest in composed landscape with a contemporary vision.

David is also a multi-instrumentalist and plays in The Crocker Brothers, one of the UK's premier acoustic/bluegrass bands.
